Meet Alejandra. She and her family are ranchers in beautiful west Texas. Alejandra is full of personality and fearlessness. She’s been riding horses since she was old enough to sit up by herself. With the skills and knowledge passed down by her loved ones, Alejandra competes in nearby rodeos and has won 3rd place twice with her horse, Dollar. Soon she’ll begin training for barrel racing, poles, and the break away.
Doing chores on horseback with her grandpa Chuy is one of Alejandra’s favorite things to do on the weekends. Almost every Sunday, Chuy sets up the arena for roping practice. All of the family joins in and Alejandra rides to her heart’s content. It’s a great way to pass on new skills and spend quality time.
“Alejandra is a quick learner and strives to be better every time she rides. She’s an outdoor girl who loves all animals. She loves playing with her two dogs, Bailey and Lily. Some afternoons she likes going over to her great grandparents house to help feed and care for their goats.” -Angelica, Alejandra’s Proud Mom
The Navarrete family has lived and worked Spring Mountain Ranch for 30 years. Together, they raise cattle and care for the land. The tight knit group takes pride in passing their knowledge from one generation to the next. Alejandra, just like her mother before her, spends her days in the great wide open spaces of west Texas—learning to ride horses and doing chores around the property.
