Laura styled her Hybrid Camo Printed Sandstone with the Signature LS T-Shirt, and topped it off like any beer lover would with the Carhartt Woodsman Watch Hat.
“I love the vest because it works so well across seasons. I bought my first one six year ago and I still get complements on it. It’s great when I’m working on a project going back and forth between indoors and out and it’s perfect when you have a friend who needs help moving apartments during a January snowstorm.” -Laura
Lauren, the lover of patterns, styled paired her Sandstone with the Hamilton Flannel Shirt.
“I love to wear the Sherpa lined vest because it is a great extra layer to really keep you warm, yet still look cool. It easily fits under a jacket and then looks great on its own. I love pairing it with a flannel to complete a cozy winter look.” -Lauren

The drop-tail hem in the back gives me a little more coverage when I’m wearing leggings on a lazy day, and also makes the vest look a bit more modern. The pockets are big enough to hold my cell phone, and I can put it in the interior pocket as well so it’s more secure.” -Taylor

The hero of our Crafted in Carhartt song as of late is cowgirl, Rachel Smith. I followed her on her journey to Loveland where she and the rest of the Wild and Wooly rodeo team competed in the WWRA 2015 World Finals. Rachel and teammate Stormy set off on the adventure from Kim, Colorado.
Getting yourself and your horse to a rodeo is no easy task, especially with some precious kiddos and a pesky Carhartt photographer along for the ride. This car trip was a blast, and the taco truck pit stop wasn’t too shabby either. What’s your favorite road trip snack?

This past Sunday was National Horse Day. That got me thinking about the unrivaled bond between horse and rider. What do you call someone who is a best friend and a part of the family, who can read your mind, watch out for you, and even get up to mischief in a way that will undoubtedly make you laugh?
This is Rachel and Lil Duck. They communicate in a moment without words. Trust runs strong between them. Rachel confidently puts her 2 year old daughter on Duck’s back, knowing she’ll be just as safe as when she has both feet on the ground. They are partners, competing in rodeos as a team with fluid movements and dexterity. They are the best of friends, taking in daily life on the ranch. Every sunrise they are together, experiencing the beauty Colorado has to offer.

There is something so human and true about these few captured moments of hard labor. From a moment of preparation, to the gritting of teeth, falling into the peaceful moment of success, and then moving forward. We may not all be moving 75 pounds of hay, but the process is similar in a lot of work scenarios. Whatever your passion is, you can’t let the stages of each endeavor intimidate you. It’s about the breath before the action starts, then the fun begins.

Consider it the richest of compliments when they copy your every move. Those are precious moments—hold on to them tight.
Rachel told the sweetest story about her daughter, Jessa. These are her words below.
Jessa was running around with a purse on each shoulder, heading towards the door.
Jessa says: “G’bye Mommy!”
Me: “Bye! Where are you going?”
Jessa: “shopping”
Me: “Have fun. What are you going to get while you are shopping?”
Jessa: “Um…umm…salt and mineral.”She might be a ranch kid.
Okay y’all, the El Paso Utility Jacket is without a doubt one of my favorites. It’s constructed of ripstop fabric, so it’s really light.
