On my trip to Montana, it rained quite a bit. I practically lived in the new Carhartt Women’s Cascade Jacket. It’s much easier to enjoy the sweeping views and wide open skies when you know your rainwear will keep you dry. This Storm Defender® waterproof breathable jacket comes with articulated elbows so you can easily move around, a left-chest map pocket that’s certain to keep its contents drip-free, interior cuffs with thumbholes for those extra inches of protection, and an adjustable hem with drawcord and barrel lock adjusters. It’s basically your rain jacket dream come true.
You can spend a lifetime chasing your dreams and building your skills. Each passing year brings knowledge and a greater familiarity with your craft. Your hands learn the motions. Your feet know each peddle and step. Mixtures and solutions are written over and over in your mind so many times that you’ll never forget them. Each day you create new thoughts and ideas to make your work better or different. That accumulation is one of the most beautiful parts of life. Each time you put on your Carhartts, still covered in yesterday’s work, you’ve grown stronger, smarter, and more capable. The seasoning of each passing year, with all the mistakes and successes you’ve seen, can only add to who you are. Always wear your dirty work vest with pride.
“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.” -Sophia Loren

To all those followers with a green thumb (and people like me who aspire to have one), we have the perfect gardening top for you. The Carhartt Force Crewneck is a dream shirt for hard work, especially when you’re outdoors. Its stain resistant, sweat wicking, and odor fighting material is on your side every step of the way. You can get elbow deep and dirt without a worry, all while keeping cool and comfortable. I put Carhartt Force to the test today while I planted a cacti and succulent arrangement. Try this DIY and email me your result. I’d love to see your version.
Think about how you’d describe your best friend. Is she sweet? Fluffy? Covered in powdered sugar? Okay. That’s probably not how you’d depict her. But for Torya Blanchard, owner of Good Girls go to Paris, that might be exactly what she’d say when thinking of a friend. Good Girls is a Detroit hotspot for over 50 varieties of crepes, all named after Torya’s friends, with specific attributes in mind.
Heather, pictured above, is a crepe-making master. Cooking up nutella, strawberry perfection sounds like a fun job to me! When you’re in the heat of the kitchen, the moisture wicking technology of Carhartt Force is on your side. Detroit artist, Susuannah Goodman, spends much of her time teaching enrichment programs around the city. She helps children find their own creative spark from molding clay to repurposing recycled goods. Susannah sells a lot of her pieces in local coffee shops, galleries, and online. When it comes to her own work, she told me: “There are two kinds of pottery in this world: the kind that gets broken in the dish drain, and the kind that breaks other pots in the dish drain. I prefer to make the latter.” To Susannah, the sturdiness of Carhartt work clothes is similar to the sturdiness of her own pottery.

How did you spend your free time in college? If that answer involves power tools, right on. Stephanie and Alicia joined the Michigan Ice Carving Team to wield chainsaws and blow torches. Hardcore indeed.
I’m back in my old stomping ground this week. Nothing compares to the expanse of Texas skies. I spent some time on a ranch, and of course I had to dress the part. It was a bit chilly out, so I wore Carhartt’s country girl plaid shirt and the midweight hooded sweatshirt. The details are what really make these two items for me. I love the ruffle on the plaid shirt and the stitching on the sweatshirt. Both play off one another nicely and lend some added interest to the eye.
