Thanksgiving is almost here! Are you looking for some last minute decorating ideas but don’t have time to go to the store? Give these apple votives a try. You most likely have all the supplies at home already. It adds a great touch of fall to any centerpiece. While you’re getting festive, the Carhartt Women’s Monatou Sweater is one of my favorite fall items! So warm and snuggly!
If you saved your seeds from making pumpkin bowls yesterday, you’re ahead of the game. If not, grab a pumpkin and get started. This fall trail mix is great to have around the house for friends and family that are visiting. The perfect mix of sweet and salty is key in a snack. The mix of cranberries, garlic toast, Reese’s Pieces, and pumpkin seeds is so good! Give it a try. Get creative and add in some of your own ingredients.
Are you looking for fall decorating ideas? Pumpkin bowls are quick and simple. They’re great for serving snacks on Thanksgiving Day before the big meal. They also make inexpensive but elegant centerpieces. Native Americans once used dried pumpkin shells to store grain, beans, and seeds. It’s always cool to pull something historical into your celebrations.
Take a look at my crafting outfit: Carhartt Women’s Rowlesburg Sweatshirt, Clarkston Cami, Slim-Fit Jeans, & Wellington Boots. The Rowlesburg Sweatshirt is one of my favorites. It’s cozy with a thermal lining you can wear around the house or for indoor work. The material is made with Rain Defender™ technology that’s both durable and water repellant, so it transitions to your outdoor jobs as well.
(Save the pumpkin seeds for a trail mix I’ll be posting the recipe for tomorrow!)
The perfect pair of blue jeans are hard to find. Well, Carhartt’s all women design team came up with a few new styles that are sure to fit your needs. Check out the Jasper Jean, pictured above. They have just the right amount of stretch from the Work-Flex® Technology that lets you move around while you work. The mid-rise cut and contoured waistband prevent gapping so no matter what your job calls for, we’ve got you covered.
It’s time to clean out the old jeans in your closet so you can stock up on Carhartt’s new denim options for working women. I cleaned out my closet this past weekend and decided to say goodbye to a few outdated pants. With some creativity and a little elbow grease, you can turn what was once considered trash into art.
Getting in the spirit of the season, I stitched a quote that nods to the mindset of Thanksgiving.
“I have decided to be happy because it is good for my health.” -Voltaire
Viewing life with a more thankful attitude can make all the difference. The more grateful you are, the more you can spread the sentiment around to others. Try your hand at stitching for your next DIY project. You can either follow the template provided above, or you can test out some of the other stitching examples shown in the chart. Go on! Have fun with it!
Sometimes it’s hard to get the creative juices flowing. Inspiration can be hard to come by if you wait for it to appear out of thin air. That’s why the best way to prevent crafting block is to choose your own inspiration. This week, I chose candy corn because it’s one of my favorite things about fall. What is it about the season that makes you feel excited? Now use that as a jumping off point. Another thing that I love about this time of year is that it’s time to bring out the fleeces. The Boyne Jacket I’m wearing above is one of the coziest hoodies known to man. Now snuggle up and get to crafting!
To all those followers with a green thumb (and people like me who aspire to have one), we have the perfect gardening top for you. The Carhartt Force Crewneck is a dream shirt for hard work, especially when you’re outdoors. Its stain resistant, sweat wicking, and odor fighting material is on your side every step of the way. You can get elbow deep and dirt without a worry, all while keeping cool and comfortable. I put Carhartt Force to the test today while I planted a cacti and succulent arrangement. Try this DIY and email me your result. I’d love to see your version.
This is a really simple DIY that only takes a few minutes. A mini, portable bulletin board is such a simple concept, and it’s incredibly useful. You can use it to display some fun pictures and keepsakes or even keep track of receipts and important papers. If you drop by your local hardware store, they usually have a scrap bin they’ll let you pick through for free. Grab a small block of wood, cover the front side in cork, and you have a mini bulletin board! Get creative and see how you can put your own spin on this project.
On another note, it’s time for fall clothes to get mixed into your outfits. Check out what’s new for Carhartt Women this season. I’m so ready for sweater weather!
Meet Kiersten and Suandra. Both girls work for Habitat for Humanity in Washington DC. This is no job for the weak or those with a fear of heights. From scaling scaffolding and roofs to wielding saws and sledgehammers, these girls have it covered. It’s encouraging to see such skill and confidence being given back to the community. See how you can lend a helping hand here.
Small worlds and fairy tales, vibrant colors and amusement parks. That’s what drives Brooke Weston’s mixed media creations. Brooke works out of her home in Portland making the most unique dioramas I’ve ever laid eyes on. What glorious combinations of dream lands and taxidermy! Check out a few of her other pieces HERE.
