The Carhartt Brewster Denim Jacket is one of my favorite spring pieces. It’s easy to layer and goes with everything. I love it so much I decided to personalize it. For the past few months, I’ve been gathering buttons and patches. Now it’s time to get the iron and stitching gear out!

Spring is all about DENIM! You can never go wrong with denim or have enough of it, and it only gets better with time. I love mixing denim with more serious, practical pieces. My favorite rain jacket for this time of year is the Cascade because it is a little heavier. It also has some great hidden details, like storm cuffs with thumb holes to really keep the cold air and water out. And what is better than perfectly hidden pockets to keep all the things you can’t live without?! The Milam Chambray shirt is new for Spring and it is my favorite piece in the line. It is the perfect weight- not too heavy, not too light. What I love about a Chambray shirt is that you can wear it with ANYTHING and it can be dressed up or down. My go to outfit is usually a chambray shirt and a pair of black jeans but I’m also obsessed with denim on denim.
Another new piece of denim for Spring, is the Brewster Denim Jacket. There are so many great details about this jacket than make it so much more than just another jean jacket. It has zippered pockets so that you can make sure nothing falls out. My favorite detail is the railroad stripe interior pockets. They are a great nod to the history of Carhartt and nice and big for all the things you might need during the day. Lastly, the jacket has a drop tail hem to give you a little bit of extra coverage in the back. I love to layer with a denim jacket so I paired this with our super comfy Hayward Hoodie and a Force Tee.
The Sandstone Mock-Neck Vest is one of the Carhartt’s most popular women’s items. I blame it on the sherpa lining. Who doesn’t love a good vest snuggle? The new Crafted in Carhartt team decided to rock their Sandstone 5 different ways. Let’s take a look and get some vest-spiration!
Laura styled her Hybrid Camo Printed Sandstone with the Signature LS T-Shirt, and topped it off like any beer lover would with the Carhartt Woodsman Watch Hat.
“I love the vest because it works so well across seasons. I bought my first one six year ago and I still get complements on it. It’s great when I’m working on a project going back and forth between indoors and out and it’s perfect when you have a friend who needs help moving apartments during a January snowstorm.” -Laura
Lauren, the lover of patterns, styled paired her Sandstone with the Hamilton Flannel Shirt.
“I love to wear the Sherpa lined vest because it is a great extra layer to really keep you warm, yet still look cool. It easily fits under a jacket and then looks great on its own. I love pairing it with a flannel to complete a cozy winter look.” -Lauren

“I chose the camo-printed vest because I loved the colors that you’re able to pair with it. The Sherpa-lining was an added bonus! “This vest is a great addition to my winter wardrobe for a few reasons! The drop-tail hem in the back gives me a little more coverage when I’m wearing leggings on a lazy day, and also makes the vest look a bit more modern. The pockets are big enough to hold my cell phone, and I can put it in the interior pocket as well so it’s more secure.” -Taylor

Michigan Jewelry Designer, Kristine Bolhuis, works out of her home studio. The walls are papered with snippets of inspiration and her children’s hand painted masterpieces. There is a methodical delicateness to her work. These lightweight metal constructions have a flexible nature to them, begging you to try out each moving part. Take a closer look at all of her creations here, each one is a tiny piece of wearble sculpture. They’d make a great last minute Christmas gift, don’t you think?

The best road trip I’ve ever taken was across the great state of Montana. With a great mix of working, hiking, and sight-seeing, you need the right gear.
