Alison and her husband, Kevin, started Bit of Butter as a passion project. It’s an online store that sells vintage, mid century, and danish modern home goods, housewares, and furnishings. Alison is a mother, an academic, and a mid-century design enthusiast. A lot goes into their searches for Bit of Butter stock. The mornings start early at Seattle estate sales and thrift stores. Alison and Kevin often refinish their findings as well. Much time is spent researching the goods and prepping them for resale. Take a look at the charming items on their website here.

This is Katie, the head coordinator of Jayne Weddings and a good friend of mine. She has the golden touch to make any setting beautiful. Jayne Weddings often incorporates crafts and DIY projects into their events, which happen to be some of Katie’s specialties. She uses what she learned from her past career paths in her business today. Those include graphic design, teaching art, and coordinating events for an organic catering company.

The photos above are from the styling of a Sante Fe themed wedding, located at Big Star, a favorite restaurant of Chicago locals. The styling was immaculate— from the churros to the handmade banner. I love that her Carhartt outfit fit in perfectly with her theme. Way to go, Katie!
