Lydia from Argaman&Defiance was destined for fabric design. Her name means ‘the maker of purple dye.’ All of Lydia’s products are naturally dyed in her Chicago studio. You have to check out the beautiful silk scarves she makes. I’m obsessed! It was fun to watch Lydia work. So much love and attention to detail is put into each piece. Keep an eye out for the wholesale bridal line in winter 2014 for great wedding items. (including ribbon, wine cozies, table runners, and shawls suited for the handmade, rustic wedding) Keep up with Lydia and Argaman&Defiance on facebook for updates.
This is Katie, the head coordinator of Jayne Weddings and a good friend of mine. She has the golden touch to make any setting beautiful. Jayne Weddings often incorporates crafts and DIY projects into their events, which happen to be some of Katie’s specialties. She uses what she learned from her past career paths in her business today. Those include graphic design, teaching art, and coordinating events for an organic catering company.
The photos above are from the styling of a Sante Fe themed wedding, located at Big Star, a favorite restaurant of Chicago locals. The styling was immaculate— from the churros to the handmade banner. I love that her Carhartt outfit fit in perfectly with her theme. Way to go, Katie!
